On November 9, 2016 Donald Trump won the election for the President of the United States. That morning many felt surprised, saddened, and elated. Thousands of protestors in New York, Portland, and other places poured into the streets decrying the results. They flooded the streets with anger. They marched to the Trump Tower yelling and screaming insults. They clogged the streets; forcing cars to stop and commerce was halted. Trump supporters were assaulted and beaten-up. Ironically, while the protestors were calling Trump and his supporters hateful and racists – they showed the very opposite of love and tolerance.
In fact, it is they who are actually full of hate. They are bigots and intolerant. How do we know this? Just look at their actions. Hate blinds. It cripples the ability to process information in a logical and reasonable way. Obama and the press have been vilifying the Republicans for eight long years. They have gone after traditional religion. Hillary Clinton even went as far to say religious institutions or religious beliefs must be changed.
Obama and the press have indoctrinated many to believe they are “righteous” people. Why do they believe this? Because the only evil in their mind is racism, hate, sexist, etc. This is the new “morality.” Moreover, they are the one’s defining what is racism, hatred, etc. In a world where moral relativism has defined the USA for over fifty years, now a new “morality” is being forced onto the American people. But many people are oblivious to this insidious movement.
Abortion, same-sex marriage, transgender, and men using women’s bathrooms have become “moral.” Yet, believing in God is laughed at. Or, some have even gone as far to say God is love, thus, God supports these beliefs.
What these protestors demand:
- Same-sex marriage
- No restrictions on abortion
- Men using women’s bathrooms
- Second amendment limited, if not abolished
- Limit freedom of speech
- Overturn the electoral college
- Free college
- Free healthcare
- In sum: Socialism.
President Obama, Hillary Clinton and many Democrats were working hard to give them what they wanted. The election stopped these goals. The American people rejected them. But the protestors were promised these things. They were told this was the “right side of history.” They built up great hopes, dreams, and expectations for these true believers. Their hopes have been dashed.
Eight years of hubris produced the worst in our culture. For eight years Obama and his supporters have defied the Constitution. They have marginalized millions of Americans. They have defied nature itself. Why? Just because they could. No one kept them in check. No one held them accountable. Just like a child who does whatever he wants. The end is disastrous.
The unaccountable, the immature, the sheer hubris has sown its seed. The seed is in the streets. The seed is yelling obscenities. The seed must have its way. The seed is rapacious. The rabid cry of the seed cannot help itself. The seed was watered with hate, was fertilized with hubris, and spoken to with lies. In fact, the seed itself is nothing more than hate. Yet, they cry and cry.
Human nature never changes. Hate is still the same as it was a thousand years ago. Murder is still murder. Rape is still rape. What does change – occasionally, are the beliefs and perception of what is moral or not moral. We have been here before. The Nazis turned murder into good. The Communists turned deception and the confiscation of private property into a moral right. The progressives turned eugenics into the moral good for the sake of saving the human race.
We are now at another juncture in history where the notions of “morality” and the “right side of history” are raising their ugly heads again. The seeds of discord are raging. This generation has become a modern-day Icarus. The ancient Greeks have a myth about what hubris does. Icarus was given wings to fly. But they were made of wax. If he flew too close to the sun they would melt and he would fall to his death. Icarus flew; but defied reality, he flew too close to the sun. His wings melted and he fell to his death. Obama and others have built this generation’s wings made of wax. Their so-called morality is built with wax. Their demands are built with wax. Hence, their protests are nothing more than wax.
William Butler Yates wrote a poem years ago that might capture part of what has transpired in our culture. It is called The Second Coming.
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity. (emphasis mine).
